YOUR PRACTITIONER
My name is Dayna Willesee and I have been qualified and practicing in Bowen Therapy (Fascial Kinetics, Myopractic and The importance of symmetry approaches of Bowen) and Reflexology since 2005. Since starting my journey in this field of work I have continued to update my skills in the alternative health and wellbeing arena.
Since completing The importance of symmetry (Graham Pennington's training), I am able to quickly determine the root cause of an issue through comprehensive assessment tools. This approach is reminiscent of how the great Tom Bowen (the Australian who developed Bowen Therapy) approached the issues presenting in his busy clinic practice. It is legendary the number of clients that Tom Bowen would see in his busy and successful clinic.
WHY BOWEN THERAPY AND REFLEXOLOGY?
I decided to change careers and study these two therapies after experiencing profound health improvements from another therapist whom practiced both these therapies. After accessing various conventional services to assist with various issues, including severe pain, migraines, headaches and emotional issues stemming from my childhood, I stumbled across Bowen Therapy in my workplace (initially making an apointment with the 'massage lady' for a lower back complaint).
The improvements I experienced were gradual but so profound. I noticed changes on a physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual level. I finally felt a sense of freedom from all those past issues that were dragging me down and stopping me from being a healthy functional being. I experienced improvement and resolution for pain issues I had been trying to manage, unsuccessfully, with physiotherapy and pain medications. This was so powerful as I had been told by the medical profession that my pain issues stemmed from a whiplash injury received from a motor vehicle accident at 18 years of age. I was told that I would have them for the rest of my life and i would have to learn to manage them. I understand how devastating and scary hearing a diagnosis of this kind can be, having experienced it myself. At this time, I was experiencing migraines and neck pain multiple times a week. It was debilitating. I now no longer have these issues and do not require pain medications to 'manage' them. It is so common for people to be told something along these lines and this is where clients will contact me. After many years of trying conventional forms of treatment or approaches, clients become disillusioned with the ongoing pain, medications and treatments and decide to try something different.
MY APPROACH
The service that I provide my clients is attentive, thorough and compassionate. I ensure sufficient time is provided to each of my clients. My clients feel heard and more importantly, leave with an understanding of the approach required to assist them with their health issue. An initial consult thoroughly looks at a client's health complaint and often identifies contributing factors that can be overlooked by other health professionals. These often are key to a client's recovery. As an example, often, in particular with back complaints, the Psoas muscle will be implicated. So many clients will present to me after years of accessing conventional forms of treatment. When the Psoas muscle is discussed, they will indicate that at no time has this been mentioned or addressed. It is these oversights that often are the key to improvement and recovery.
I offer my services from a quiet home-based location in Greenwood, Western Australia.
I am fully insured and a Member of both the Bowen Therapists Federation of Australia (BTFA) and the Reflexology Association of Australia (RAoA).
